Our Cookie Statement

These are not edible versions! For healthy cookie recipes check out our blog!

This cookie statement cookie is and will be treated as part of our terms of use, and is automatically incorporated therein.

In some cases we may use cookies and other tracking technologies described in this Cookie Statement to collect personal information, or to collect information that becomes Personal Information if we combine it with other information. For more information about how we process your Personal Information, please consult our Privacy Policy.

What are Cookies?

A cookie is a small file which is placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. The file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies are widely used by online service providers in order to (for example) make their websites or services work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.

Cookies set by the website owner or service provider (in this case, Weight In Mind Ltd) are called “first party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third party cookies”. Third party cookies enable third party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website or service you are using (such as advertising, interactive content and analytics). The third parties that set these third party cookies can recognise your computer both when it visits the website or service in question and also when it visits certain other websites or services.  Please note that we have no control over third party cookies.

When do we use Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies?

To help personalize content, tailor and measure adverts and ultimately provide you with the best user experience, we use cookies provided by third parties.

We use Google Analytics and other providers, to provide us with statistical information about use and traffic on our websites, mobile apps and social media platforms.  These services use IP addresses and other information from cookies to tell us, for example, the number of page views, number of users, what browsers users are using, and location data of users. This statistical information allows us to understand our audiences, reach our target audiences, develop and customise our product and services, maximise compatibility for most of our users, and determine how much to charge for advertising.

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about webpage traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.

What Cookies do we use?

On our site, we use a mixture of essential, performance and functionality, analytical and advertising cookies.

Essential Cookies:

Required to enable core website functionality, simply put, the website can’t function without them.

Performance & Functionality Cookies:

— W3 Total Cache

This cookie is set by W3 Total Cache plug-in for sites based on the WordPress content management system. It is used for performance optimisation.

— WooCommerce

To manage the  ecommerce section of our website we use the WooCommerce platform. Built on wordpress, WooCommerce is an open source development platform that is regularly audited by Sucuri, an industry leader in security.

Cookies are used by WooCommerce in a variety of ways.

Cookies depend on specific features that are enabled on a store. The cookies are active when a user interacts with one of these features or to allow admin functions to be performed from within the store’s dashboard (/wp-admin).

No personal information is stored within these cookies.

Within the WooCommerce platform cookies are widely used to ‘remember’ you and your preferences, either for a single visit through a ’session cookie’ or for multiple repeat visits using a ‘persistent cookie’. They ensure a consistent and efficient experience for visitors, and perform essential functions such as allowing users to register and remain logged in.

Both websites and HTML emails may also contain other tracking technologies such as ‘web beacons’, or ‘pixels’. These are typically small transparent images that provide us with statistics for similar purposes as cookies. They are often used in conjunction with cookies, though they are not stored on your computer in the same way. If you disable cookies, the web beacons may still load, but their functionality will be restricted.

For more information about these cookies please visit: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-cookies/

Advertising Cookies:

Used by advertising companies to serve ads that are relevant to your interests.

— Facebook & Instagram Ads

From time to time we may use Facebook and Instagram advertising and analytics cookies to optimise our business, and further personalise our offerings to you. These cookies allow us to use advertising features on both platforms such as audiences, conversions, targeting and optimisation as well as analytical data for enhanced personalisation.

We may use Google Analytics Advertiser Features to optimise our business. Advertiser features include:

  • Remarketing with Google Analytics

  • DoubleClick Platform integrations
  • Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting
  • Optimize 360

By enabling these Google Analytics Display features, we are required to notify our visitors by disclosing the use of these features and that we and third-party vendors use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) or other first-party identifiers, and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) or other third-party identifiers together to gather data about your activities on our Site. Among other uses, this allows us to contact you if you begin to fill out our check-out form but abandon it before completion with an email reminding you to complete your order. The “Remarketing” feature allows us to reach people who previously visited our Site, and match the right audience with the right advertising message.

For more information about Google Analytics, please visit: https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/cookie-usage

— Mail Chimp

We use Mail Chimp as our email marketing platform. Mail Chimp automatically places single pixel gifs, also known as web beacons, in every email sent by us. These are tiny graphic files that contain unique identifiers enable us to recognize when our subscribers have opened an email or clicked certain links. These technologies record each subscribers email address, IP address, date, and time associated with each open and click for a campaign. We use this data to create reports about how an email campaign performed and what actions subscribers took.

We may use additional third party advertising features via our Mail Chimp account such as Facebook Remarketing Ads, and Google Remarketing Ads. For more information about these ads, please visit https://mailchimp.com/legal/cookies/.

Cookie Opt-Out

Please note that you can set your browser to alert you when a cookie is being used, and accept or reject the cookie. You can also set your browser to refuse all cookies or accept only cookies returned to the originating servers. Users can generally disable the cookie feature on their browser without affecting their ability to use the site, except in some cases where cookies are used as an essential security feature necessary for transaction completion. Cookies, however, are important to the proper functioning of a site, and disabling them may degrade your experience and interfere with website features and customisations

Many browsers allow a private mode to be activated through which the cookies are always erased after the visit. Depending on each browser, this private mode can have different names.
